Playful Education for Change

June 2021

Overview

Global Perspectives on Play, Inclusive and Equitable Education, and Social Change.

This year’s Remix Play 4 webinar aims to link a number of existing educational projects around the world. While each experience was designed to address specific contextual needs; rooted in local culture, they all share four common strands:

Playfulness

as the fundamental attitude promoting sociability and cultural groundedness by allowing for creativity and moving beyond what is taken for granted.

Inclusive & Equitable Education

as the need to ensure that all learners have access and support in acquiring the knowledge and skills required to promote sustainable development.

Social Change

as the process of collaboratively generating innovative solutions to challenging social and environmental issues, in pursuit of societal progress.

Community Orientation

as the approach required to meaningfully embed global interventions into local cultures, customs, and needs.

The webinar will highlight how these four common strands support and reinforce each other to achieve long-term sustainable societal change and development in very different national and cultural settings.

This year, Remix Play will be delivered a little differently. We will be releasing videos for each talk throughout June ahead of three live hour-long discussion sessions at the end of the month. Each talk will have its own feature page through which participants will be able to watch the videos, find useful project links, and discuss the topics within the talk in a dedicated comments section.
