The Ludic team were delighted to host Frederik “Willie” Knoetze for two months here in Coventry as part of his PhD studies. Willie has been an invaluable addition to the team throughout his stay and we eagerly await his return for exciting future collaborations.  A word from Willie about his visit:

“The opportunity to visit the CPC and spend time with the Ludic Design team, afforded to me by the dual award agreement between Stellenbosch and Coventry Universities, promised to invigorate my research, deepen my engagement within my field of work, and reignite a fire for writing. I had hoped for this much, but never dreamt of also finding “my People”. Meeting Sylvester, Petros, Jayne, Alex, and Mark changed the way I look at scholarship, the academe, and my place in the world in general.

I’ve written more, explored more, experimented more, and collaborated in more ways than I have done in a very long time. Getting to participate in some of the Ludic team’s work was inspirational – as were the many conversations at our desks. The work that is emerging from said participation and conversation is incredibly exciting! Even here, on the literal flip side of the planet, I’m champing at the bit to get back to it. This is the power of genuine connection in a shared purpose for bettering the world. Thank you, Team Ludic, for changing my world!”
